Take Back Your Life with a Balanced Lifestyle

If you want to take back your life and regain control of your time you need to live a balanced lifestyle. There are five things you can do that will help you find balance in your life and find time to do things that matter most to you.

A New Year brings new hope for positive change. After all, that’s the reason people make New Year’s Resolutions. Unfortunately that’s not enough of a reason for people to follow through on these goals.

What does it mean to take back your life?

People’s lives are more hectic than ever before. They live in a constant state of stress trying to juggle all of things they need to do every day. Taking back your life, means regaining control and making choices that put your life in balance.

A balanced lifestyle will be different for each person. For some that mey mean more time with their family or having more time to work on your accomplishing your goals.

Here are some ways for you to get a balanced lifestyle and take back your life:

1. Learn How to Say No!

If you agreed to everything everyone wanted you to do, you’d barely have time to breathe. There will always be someone who needs something from you. Your responsibility to yourself and the people you care about is to be able to know which tasks you should accept and which you should turn down. You only have so much time in your life, save some for yourself.

2. Delegate!

You can’t do everything. And even if you could there are probably many things someone else can do faster and better. So, let them. What you pay someone to do things for you can be more than made up with the time you save. So, hire an errand service, have someone cut your lawn or let someone clean your house. This will give you more time to dedicate to the important things in your life and help you take back your life and time.

3. Cut Out the Unimportant Stuff!

If you looked at your schedule or recorded everything you did in a given day, how much of it is busywork. You know, the stuff that you do to make yourself look and feel busy. Figure out what the important stuff is, then everything else can either be delegated or you can just stop doing it. Taking away the non-essential tasks on your to-do list can free up your time for the essential things.

4. Write “Me” Time Into Your Schedule!

You may forget about spending time with the most important person in their lives. You. You need to make sure that you have time to do the things that de-stress you. It may be 5 minutes of meditation in the morning or going for a daily walk or even doing your favorite hobby. This will help reduce your stress, and improve your mood.

5. Organize Yourself!

In order to have a balanced lifestyle, you need to have an organized life. That means getting rid of the clutter, discarding or giving away the things you don’t need or use. Sometimes you need to take back your life from your possessions. You don’t need to do this all at once. Take 15 minutes each day to declutter one area of your home. If you find that you want to do more, go for it. If not, just keep to your 15 minute schedule.

These are just five ways to take back your life and begin to live a balanced lifestyle. As you’re learning to find balance remember to take time to enjoy life. Spend time doing those things that matter, the things that are important to you. That can be part of your reward for working on this New Year’s Resolution.
